It is 5 a.m. when junior Jhoel Zúñiga and senior Derick Estrada started driving to Little Rock. Their main mission? Pick up an order of 600 Krispy Kreme donuts that will be the key of making a difference in a child's life.

Educating for life was founded 19 years ago by a group of Walton Scholars as a way of giving back to their community. EFL is known around campus as the group of people who sell Krispy Kreme donuts regularly.

In EFL's history, the most donuts the non-profit has sold are 1,100 donuts for $1.00 each creating enough profit to take back to Tucuru, Guatemala.

Tucuru, is located in the center of Guatemala. In that little community Manos de Amor or Hands of Love, EFL's partner, is located. Each year EFL sets a goal of funds that should be raised. If the team meets the goal, the funds raised by the non-profit would be used for:

-Payment for teachers -School Breakfast -Uniforms -School Supplies -Didactic Materials

In 2008, Manos de Amor and EFL, helped more than 220 boys and girls between ages 1 to 14, in

schools located in the town of San Miguel Tucurú, and Alta Verapaz.
